On the LCD backpack for the Hero 4, you need to slide your finger down and then hold in on the screen for a second or two to unlock the touchscreen. That was a fairly good idea, because today when I slid my Hero 5 into the mount, with the camera facing me and the LCD facing away, I saw the Wrench Icon appear on the front LCD.

Use the GoPro built-in stabilization feature. Starting with the GoPro 5, you have available a built-in video stabilization feature that you can use. The only settings you get to control are the On and Off. Unfortunately, there is no way of controlling the stabilization amount.
